MODEM Hive’s journey
MODEM Hive started at Berklee, with the belief that South Asian music deserved the spotlight. We came in as the tool set to bridge the gap and for it to reach the spotlight. At our core, MODEM Hive exists for one purpose: to empower South Asian musicians and deliver on actionable strategy crafted at the highest standard.
This commitment brought us together and fuels every step we take.
We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some prolific brands, major record labels, and independent artists across the globe. Founded by Ankita Elizabeth Mathew, MODEM Hive is everything she stands for: bringing the right people together to create something special. This isn’t just the work—it’s her life’s work.

A love for music, and a deep desire to make things happen
I’ve been a musician all my life. Ever since I could walk I could sing. But being a smart girl from India, I went down the engineering rabbit hole that brought me to Deloitte. I liked my work at Deloitte, but I was happiest playing with the band and performing at events.
Berklee changed everything,
I started working as an artist manager while at school and I learnt everything. I learnt everything from negotiating, to findign the right collaborators, to pitching to A&R-ing.. And I loved every minute of it. MODEM Hive is a realization of that love and my passion to work with artists.
